Explanation of the workshop for pregnant couples

Updated: May 8, 2024

During pregnancy, a woman's body undergoes numerous physiological changes. These changes encompass not only structural alterations but also adjustments to weight distribution and the body's response to gravity. Additionally, there is a significant increase in blood volume, approximately by 50%, which can result in reduced endurance and alterations in breathing patterns.

Workshop Overview:

In the initial stage of the workshop, we will discuss the physiological transformations that occur in a woman's body during pregnancy. This session aims to help both partners understand and embrace these changes with compassion and love.

Breathing Techniques:

Subsequently, we will engage in guided breathing exercises. Proper breathing is an invaluable tool that can be utilized at any moment to alleviate feelings of overwhelm. Moreover, it can significantly assist in calming the mind and reducing pain during childbirth.

Massage and Touch:

Following the breathing exercises, we will proceed to the tactile component of the workshop. Each couple will be provided with a massage bed. The expectant mother will lie on her side, supported by pillows if necessary.

Massage and touch during pregnancy play a crucial role in fostering a connection between partners. The physical contact releases relaxing hormones, facilitating a unique bond between the couple and the unborn child.

Given the specialized nature of prenatal massage, I will guide the couples through the process step-by-step. The massage will be gentle and tailored to the expectant mother's needs, focusing mainly on the pelvic area and avoiding sensitive regions. Each massage session will last approximately 45 minutes.

Water Relaxation:

The final segment of the workshop is particularly special. We will harness the rejuvenating energy of nature by heading to the nearest beach for a relaxation session in the water.

In the aquatic environment, the absence of gravity creates a sensation of weightlessness, allowing for profound relaxation.

For couples considering a water birth, this experience can serve as invaluable preparation.

We will spend 20 minutes in the water, concluding the workshop with a summary of our session.
